Last School in Ribblesdale Threatened with Closure

As a newcomer to this site I feel a little awkward about posting this but I hope it's ok with the site organisers as it affects a school in a location at the hearts of many fellow cavers.

Horton in Ribblesdale Primary School is currently under consultation to be closed. Apart from the impact on the children attending the school, it will be yet another nail in the coffin for the local community.  I'm not going to preach as im sure people can make up their opinions on small rural schools.  If you do feel that closing the last school in the dale is wrong, please take the time to take a look at our website (link below) and if you have 5 minutes to fill in an online comment/objection to the proposed closure then even better.

I do have a vested interest, two in fact, both of who currently attend this magnificent school, and I would sincerely like for them to continue their primary education there.

Thanks for your time

Jonty

Will also be a loss to the BPC .We do use the school for events !

If it would be a loss braveduck, please circulate the link to BPC members and get them to object on that grounds.  We are trying to state how the school is a bigger part of the community and points like yours prove that... As long as people make them so please do!!

We're still fighting closure.  A local film maker was good enough to help us out by making a promotional film highlighting the investment made in us by the Yorkshire Dales Millennium Trust, as a specialist outdoor education school.
