Has anybody tried the AV split suit?If so what do you think of them.

Fornocal bottoms with Taka jacket, or the Piton trousers.

I have used the trousers in warm caves in Mexico and they were very good, drying out quickly and keeping me cool. I wore a thermal top and leggings underneath and the only problem was that the top would get caught on cave walls and such like but I suppose you just have to accept that! I'd imagine that the top would be useful if you started to get cold but I think that with all the wriggling around in British caves, that a one piece suit would be better and less likely to get damaged.
Lots of American cavers use these trousers quite a lot too so they must be okay

Use and abuse the AV trousers in slate mines and other dirty but not too aqueous venues. Tough as nails but leak on the stitching on rainy walk ins. Bit of Aquasure glue on the inside soon sorts that.
Very happy with mine and will buy another if I manage to destroy these.
NB - Not breathable at all so very sweaty when working hard or on hot walk ins. No different to a cave suit that but I often wear them for DCA surface jobs in place of normal waterproof trousers.
