I've just spoken with JJ (of Dalesbridge) and he's asked me to let folks know that he's not very well and in Blackpool cardiac center about to have an heart op on Tuesday.  He's been in there for a few days now and if anyone was in the area, I'm sure he would love a visit.

If you'd like his number, please PM me.

Get well soon, Jon!!

If you'd like to leave him a message here, I'll pass them on.... :)

Jon I've been trying to contact you for about a week or so since I heard you were poorly.
It is good now there's a more direct contact mechanism... Here through Pegasus and UK Caving.

You had better get well speedily my friend. We have been friends for more than fourty years....
You remember our first trip together down Winnats Head Cave's big cathedral cavern just after Ben and Chris had discovered it.....

You are held in very high regard by many... And your presence in the Dales is missed dramatically.... GET WELL SOON ! We will be waiting to welcome you back into the fold...

I had open-heart surgery at Blackpool Victoria Cardiothoracic Department about a year and a half ago, and it seems that I had a very similar operation to that which JJ?s facing; I was caving again 6? weeks after the op.

Blackpool Victoria Cardiothoracic Department is fantastic ? a multi-million pound, state-of-the-art facility staffed by brilliant, world-class surgeons with dedicated, skilled and compassionate back-up teams . . . the NHS at its world-beating best.

JJ is in very good hands.

I've just rung the hospital and they say that JJ's wide awake and feeling fine after his operation yesterday.

I was down at the CRO depot last night and by all accounts poor old JJ is absolutely bored out of his skull.  So if anyone does have any free time to go and see him, he really would appreciate it as he is climbing the walls, and apparently they frown upon that sort of thing on the ward.

Cheers

Many thanks for all the kind words much appreciated. Came out of hospital late on Tuesday, 21st March.

No the log road to recovery and caving fitness. I think Fulk may have set a challenge with caving again after 6.5 weeks.

I can certainly vouch for how good Blackpool Victoria Hospital specialist cardiac centro is.

Cheers

Jon, glad you're on the mend. I can't help speed your recovery, but if you have an E-reader (Amazon Kindle etc) I do have a folder on my computer with around 10,000 books in it. If it might help stave off the boredom I can nip round on my way home from work and transfer it to your hardware.

If you want to get out and about, we're doing a lot of work around you on the B4RN project; there's always a need for local volunteers, and it doesn't have to be heavy work. It is quite addictive playing with fibre optics...

Cheers, and get well soon.
