If anyone is trying to sell stall on ebay that has been stolen from a cave, then I will gladly contribute to the costs of organising a contract killing.

A better approach might be to make ebay aware of the problem and to ban such activities in the same way that trying to sell bootleg music is banned from ebay.    (for instance - there exists a multi music and video CD collection of work by and pertaining to Syd Barrett - it is freely available and called "Have You Got It Yet?" - if anyone trys to sell it, eg. on ebay, they are made to regret trying to sell it - BIG TIME.)

The trick is to do the same thing Syd Barrett fans do...  a few people keep watching ebay...  when the offending items appear they inform the rest of the community.  Every individual in the community acts as one and floods ebay with complaints, email the seller with complaints and false bids, and generally make the life of the seller very very miserable.

The proof that this approach works is that it is impossible to buy HYGIY?, or indeed the excellent 20 cd collection "Saucerfull of Secrets" which is rare impossible to get Pink Floyd recordings, yet both collections are easy to obtain for free.

FYI the present (2009) Ebay policy re: cave formations is:-

"Cave Formations - The removal of speleothems, stalactites and stalagmites from caves which have been designated Sites of Special Scientific Interest ("SSSIs") is prohibited unless prior consent has been obtained from English Nature. Subsequently the sale of speleothems, stalactites and stalagmites taken from caves designated as SSSIs is also prohibited. An item lawfully removed from private land is permitted."
