After one of our recent Eldon Hole trips the Badgers took a detour to have a look at the old Pegasus Hut in Peak Forest.
Its looking a bit the worse for wear and with a damaged asbestos roof is probably beyond repair.
There is a planning application posted on the gate relating to the conversion of the large barns at the top of the lane from the hut so its unlikely the new residents would be keen on a bunch of noisy cavers in their back garden.
Work has already started clearing the area around the hut and I suspect it will soon be coming down. Sad really, I stayed there a few times in the 80's.
