removing noise from mp3 files

Hi,
Just recorded some of the best audio interviews I've done so far but unfortunately my mobile phone was searching for reception and has left an annoying noise on some of the interviews. Tried to remove it but struggling a bit. Anyone able to have a go? Buy you beers as a reward.
Pm me if you can have a go.
Thanks Andy

I'd recommend using Adobe Audition:

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Adobe_Audition

Best if you can find someone who is familiar with using the software for cleaning up audio tracks - without distorting the quality and timbre of the spoken voice.

No different than using Photoshop to clean up digital images . . .

Always best to use the right equipment for the job, which includes headphones for monitoring the signal being recorded, as well as the actual recording itself (time delay with the latter can be an issue if you're asking questions), to make sure that there is no unwanted noise or distortion creeping in!

You could try Audacity freeware. The 'effects' menu includes noise removal, though success will depend on the type of noise. Is it low level background chatter, digital chirping, hiss or something else?
