Hey folks

In case anyone across the water or beyond is interested... the latest 2013 edition of Irish Speleology (no. 20), is available for purchase via the SUI shop ? http://www.caving.ie/sui-shop-2/

A fine piece of work edited by a Penguin and Hibernian, including some excellent pieces on:

- The caves of Largy
- The caves of South Tipperary
- Seeing the Light of day: the archives of Jack Coleman and D?nal Gihhoys

I see there is an obituary to D?nal Gihhoys as well as some archives. I shall have to read these, we caved together a few times.

  I hadn't realized he had died, we had lost contact. though I remember  in 1979 going through the Balarney Duck with him, twenty or thirty feet on our backs kissing the roof, just making use of the minimalist half inch or less of air  between the rock and water, using the draught to navigate our way through, and successfully forcing the first connection of two County Kerry caves.

He was a guy of tremendous enthusiasm. great to cave with, he would sing Irish ballads as we negotiated virgin boulder chokes
