Ask one of your mates who works for an engineering company to go to the nuts and bolts bin and "borrow" some 316 SS M8 bolts of the right length.*  Then nip down Poundland for a box of O-rings of assorted sizes and throw away the ones that are the wrong size.

* Do you want hex nut head or hex socket head?
