Oxlow Cavern Rigging

Hi All
Many moons ago I did Oxlow on ladders; looking at the SRT rigging topo there is a lot of rigging between the pitches, I can't remember rigging any of this. Has something changed in 30 years or is it now considered essential to rig the sloped sections? We're off tomorrow to do it, any help would be appreciated.

Cheers

No you don't really need to rig the slopes.

It is only the West Swirl Passage that is of any length, and that's got an in-situ rope on it anyway...

Cheers Rob, that's a great help; still might have to buy some rope to get to the very bottom but we can at least get into West Chamber. Happy caving

Only bit that's changed in the last 30yrs that springs to mind, is the slope you used to walk down between the 1st & 2 pitches. It now has a sizable step at the top end of about 15'.

Rope bagged and ready to go!!
I went to the Berger with the Eldon in 1987 crushed in the back of Nigel Atkins Ford Escort. Got to the top of Hurricane on a rigging trip; unfortunately the weather had other ideas and didn't get to bottom it. Great team some of who have sadly passed away but the memories remain strong.
