Audio Interface for Mac

Hi,
Can anyone recommend an Audio Interface?  It seems that for every recommendation on line there is an equal and opposite condemnation. It'll be used for basic stuff such as voice recording and dodgy sound effects for caving films etc. as well as some general audio / music recording.
It'll need to work on a Mac (OS 10.9.5 Mavericks) and have USB 2/3 or Thunderbolt connection (Firewire seems to be on the verge of extinction).  In terms of connection mic / line / instrument would be good as well as 48v phantom power, and not stupidly expensive say up to ?200 ish, or rubbish quality i.e noisy or flakey connectivity. Also needs to be bus powered for portability.
Stuff I've been told is good includes Zoom Tac-2R, Tascam US 2x2, Focusrite Scarlett (solo & 2i2), and Audient iD4, but reviews and people I've spoken to say various things about each and other makes besides.
For field use I use a Zoom H1 recorder which is very nice indeed, but doesn't quite do everything.
Any thoughts gratefully received.
