I was at Champions Church in Skipton this morning, and as part of today's message some verses were read from the Message, a modern translation of the Bible using modern English...
As a cave explorer my ears pricked up as I heard this and thought I'd share it with my friends on here..
Psalm 95. First few verses......

Come, let's shout praises to God,
raise the roof for the Rock who saved us!
Let's March into his presence singing praises,
lifting rafters with our hymn's
And why?
Because  God is the best,
High King overall other gods.
In one hand he holds the deep caves and caverns!

There are many interesting scriptural references to caves. Psalm 95 is often translated "deep places" or "inmost depths" or similar. though the literal meaning seems to be "ranges" . There are fascinating references to mining in Job 28:1-11. KJV oddly has a completely different rendering of 28:4 when compared to all other versions I know of. Other versions describe early srt ;)
