Lava Formations

Hi all!

Managed to get some quite nice photos whilst furtling around some of the lava tubes on Big Island, Hawaii last year.  I'd be most interested if anyone can throw any light on what minerals are colouring the stal (I have some ideas but they could easily be wrong!) and whether the deposits are likely to have crystalised out at the time the stal was formed, or whether they're from later deposition.  (I suspect the later as tubes were old ones and you can see drips on some of the stal.)
