Charterhouse Caving Company
From Ukcaving.com wiki
Many Mendip caves are gated at the request of the landowner.
Charterhouse Caving Company (CCC), originally the Charterhouse Caving Committee, was set up at the request of Bristol Water to administer access to the caves on their land.
The caves include GB, Longwood Swallet, Reservoir Hole and Charterhouse Swallet. When Bristol Water sold the land, access agreements were maintained at the request of the new landowners including Somerset Wildlife Trust. Many of these caves are gated to prevent accidents. In addition, many are also SSSI's (Sites of Special Scientific Interest).
A permit is required in order to access any CCC cave.
Permits are available from ACG, BEC, CSS, Mendip Caving Group, MNRC, SMCC, SBSS, TCC, UBSS and the WCC
Full details are available from the CSCC website
