Location
About 100m up Farnley Lane on the right, located convieniently next to a small layby. From the layby head up hill about 15m and slightly to the right (East) and you should find the small entrance at the base of a small rock outcrop.
Access
Open Access, for those of smaller build only ;)
Description
Tight entrance squeeze to heavily calcited passage that quickly leads to a 4m climb. A small vadose passage continues at the bottom, past some fine moonmilk, to the top of another climb, about 3m this time. Passage continues at the bottom for about 25m, past some awquard bends, to a large boulder choke: Farnsley Bitter.
Caution - Extreme care should be taken while in Farnsley Bitter as the roof is not a roof!!
On approaching the choke, turn left immediately, through a squeeze between boulders, to the head of a scaffolded shaft. This leads to a small side aven along a rift. Heading away from the choke a small passage on the rift leads for about 8m to a "mud inlet".
Work continues at the base of the side aven...
Kit List
None. Preferably tackled with no belt!
History
Originally found in 2000 it has undergone a good handful digging session firstly by John Beck and Mark Noble, and more recently by SUSS, all encouraged by the strong draught and the blank area of limestone that it heads into.
