History
An open hole, it was first recorded in the first edition of Northern Caves1 as being a 20' "deep gash which is a simply walk down". Some digging had taken place in the hole as evidenced by some rotten shoring, but further digging2 by a team of mainly Dave Checkley, John Gardner, John Sellers and Phil Johnstone reached the base of the shaft in November 2008 and exposed the small outlet passage.
