Avon Gorge Area
Introduction
This is a 1.5 mile long gorge through mainly carboniferous limestone about 2 miles to the east from the centre of Bristol, separating it from the town of Clifton.

Quantock Hills
Introduction
The Quantock Hills are a range of hills extending about 20km to the south east from Watchet on the coast. The higher parts of hills are mainly heathland and rise to about 400m. The hills are formed of Devonian slates and sandstones with some beds of limestone. The caves are formed in expsosures of the Roadwater Limestone. They commonly contain fill of younger Permo Triassic and Jurassic material.
