Location

Grid Reference: SD 738 723

Altitude: 454 m

Entrance in very large shakehole.

Description

Reasonably pleasant and short trip with a mix of vertical and horizontal.

A climb down and short passage with a squeeze bring you to the first pitch which is narrow at the top, crawls lead on and through a small tube to emerge in Guillotine Chamber. A climb down reaches 2 short (climbable) pitches, at the bottom is the low crawl of Rake's Progress.

Beyond is a further pitch (again climbable but more awkward than the previous two) and quickly followed by the fourth and fifth pitches.

A short distance from here the Great Stone Shoot is descended and the continuing passage is followed to the final pitch, which lands in a chamber with digs at either end.
