Gated shaft lies in an area of mine spoil about 100m west of the Minera to World's End road.

Access

Entrance shaft is gated and locked. Key held by North Wales Caving Club, with whom access should be arranged. Relevant insurance (eg BCA) required.

Description

100m entrance shaft (sometimes the NWCC have a winch on the shaft), followed by 20m shaft leads to about 8km of natural passages. Part of the Minera Mountain Cave System which includes Ogof Cefn-y-Gist, Ogof Llyn Du and Ogof Dydd Byraf.

History

NWCC broke through to an extensive series of natural cave passages in 1983.
