South Wales Caving Club
From Ukcaving.com wiki
The South Wales Caving Club (or Clwb Ogofeydd Deheudir Cymru in Welsh) is one of the largest clubs in the UK, having in excess of 300 members living right across the UK and beyond.
It was formed at Easter in 1946, at about the same time that Ogof Ffynnon Ddu was first entered.
In 1960, the club purchased a terraced row of 10 quarrymen's cottages at Penwyllt in the upper Swansea Valley. This impressive building remains as the club headquarters to this day, offering accommodation for about 60 people with extra space for camping. The passages of Ogof Fynnon Ddu lie directly beneath the cottage, the Cwm Dwr entrance being just a couple of hundred metres away.
