Talk:Caving Regions of the UK and Eire

why not arrange these regions in alphabetical order?

If you want to be really accurate, you should refer to Peak District as opposed to Derbyshire as the area overlaps into Staffordshire (e.g. Waterways Swallet)...

Eire

is Eire in the UK? ("the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland") Martinr 21:56, 19 October 2006 (BST)

No, it's not, but it'd be a bit churlish to exclude it dontcha think?

I agree about the Peak / debyshire bit, but don't know how easy it is to change the name. one way to find out i suppose

Use the "move" tab at the top of the page.

Does that autmatically produce the "redirected from 'derbyshire'" bit when you follow a link to "Derbyshire".? CaveTroll 11:03, 20 October 2006 (BST)

Yeah, the redirect is automatic...

Eire

I am still unsure about including Eire as a caving region of the UK when it is not in the UK.

How would a Forest of Dean caver feel if the Forest was treated as a region of Mendip or Wales? Could we change the heading to Caving regions of the UK and Eire? Martinr 20:04, 20 October 2006 (BST)

I've changed it (as you can see) - I agree that it's better this way.

You can just go ahead and change things yourself martinr, you don't need to ask permission first. If everyone else hates your changes then they'll just change them back!

I would get rid of the "Includes areas that aren't strictly inside the Peak District National Park" after "Peak District" since the Peak District is a geographical region everybody knows and being in or near the National Park per se makes no difference! Paul

Cumbria/Yorkshire Dales

I was wondering whether the Cumbria entry (which seems to be designed for the Nenthead mines) would be better put into the Yorkshire Dales article under the relevant valley area (Wear, Tees, etc.). to be accurate, the Yorkshire Dales could be renamed to The Dales or even Northern Caves. ??? --RobinGriffiths 15:41, 5 January 2007 (GMT)
