Please note the correct name. Contrary to opinion, the landowner and the principal diggers do not agree with standard local convention, and have decided that the "Pot" should be dropped. In fact, it was added on by others. It has always been just Templeton.

Description

Its origins started as a wee depression in grassy field. It became the life and soul of many a Mendip cave digger... Destiny states it will be the missing link between the water leaving Swildon's and St Cuthbert's and reappearing in Wookey Hole (or something like that).

Original excavations used concrete rings until the cave started to collapse in around the base of the rings. Plan B saw the rings pulled out, a Hymac brought in... scaffolding brought in... an industrial winch brought in... a crane brought in... (to remove the mechanical digger once it dug itself in to a depth of ??50ft)... welders brought in... heavy duty winching tracks brought in... 3 phase power generators brought in... a Monday and Wednesday night digging team brought in... a weekend maintenance crew brought in... an industrial water pump brought in... its depth continues at around 160 feet ish
