Description

Access is via a small gate and steps down to Culvert. High in the left wall, the water issues from the left hand of 2 culverts. Following the left hand (wet) one leads to sump 1 (9m long) Here a sluice can be opened that will de-roof sump 1 (in normal conditions).

Following the right hand passage bypasses sump 1 and leads to the upstream side. Here a passage lined with digging debris leads shortly to Sump 2. This is 5m deep pot (with exit ladder bolted in situ). From the base of this pot - tight bedding passage has been pushed by divers for 18 meters to restrictions.

Almost certain connections with the downstream sumps of bagshawe cavern but with potential to pass these into unchartered waters.
