This book is in two volumes, "North Ribblesdale" published in 1937, and "Under Ingleborough", published in 1949. It was privately published by the author, and printed by the Craven Herald. The former was reprinted twice with some differences, so it could be regarded as having had three editions.
Albert Mitchell was a founding father of Craven Pothole Club, and a reporter with the Craven Herald. "Yorkshire Caves and Potholes" was the first attempt at a methodical description of the caves in Yorkshire, rather than descriptions of them as curiosities, such as written by James Hutton.
Both volumes are soft backed, but nevertheless are expensively produced - especially "Under Ingleborough", with many high quality photographs, maps, and sketches.
These volumes are essential reading for anyone who has anything more than a passing interest in the history of Yorkshire caving.
