Carlsbad Caverns National Park is looking for a Cave and Karst intern for winter 2019-2020 and a Paleontology intern for fall 2019 through the Geoscientists-in-the Parks (GIP) program.

The Cave and Karst intern will assist in monitoring the parks' bat populations, White-nose Syndrome (WNS) detection, and development and implementation of the park's WNS response strategy.

The Paleontoloy intern will help further the knowledge of fossils found thoughout both the park's surface landscape and within caves. They will work with fossil resources within the park's museum collection, and help re-locte significant paleontological sites within the park.

Both interns will get first-hand experience with a wide range of resource-related projects, work with public cave program volunteers, and broaden their skills through interaction with the numerous researchers conducting studies within the park. This is a great opportunity to become intimately familiar with an outstanding caving area and join a dynamic team that is passionate about protecting cave and paleontological resources.
