Some Ideas For The Capping Kit

We have been doing a lot of capping lately so I have pondered how to make things easier.

Firstly the capping rod should be easily replaced on the slide hammer. A joining nut and locking nut accomplishes that.

Then when the rod gets jammed in the hole getting it out without damage is awkward.
The small modified gemmy achieves that. The rod has a movable nut so that the jemmy can be used to withdraw the rod whatever the depth.

Yup lots of thinking time here in the home.

200mm stainless threaded rod available fron eBay so is the rod joining nut. 8mm for standard Hilti caps.  Dont forget to carry a flat ended poking todger to push the cap into the hole.

Re the flat ended poking todger, I take the edge off slightly with a file, (so the cap is being pushed in the middle) to lessen the chance of it accidentally going boom

Better than stainless rod is a large old  good quality  screwdriver  8 mm dia.  is a standard size for these the steel should be chrome vanadium and consequently  very tough You may have to smash of its plastic handle to be left with a suitable length
