What thread do people use for sewing oversuits?

My Av suit now has several holes in it following a rather silly trip in oxlow.

Gutermann extra strong thread followed by liberal application of Seamgrip (or Aquasure which is the same stuff but less runny).

I can't remember exactly, but I used something along these lines:

https://www.amazon.co.uk/SPEEDY-STITCHER-SEW150-BRK-Coarse-Polyester/dp/B0001YWCDS

It has held up really well so far. The rest of the suit is now the problem!

I use a standard black nylon, doubled twice when sewing and always make sure to create a flap or patch with a guard stitch to avoid wear on the repair seam. It's what most of the suits normally use.

I'd then find everything around the stitch would tear as the cordura was too thin.

A good tip for preserving the life of seams and preventing ripping is to glue/patch them before they rip. I learnt this only after many AV suits, though I now have an Alp design which fits me better and so doesn't rip.

I use this stuff, but only as I have several hundred metres already on my reels:

Pretty much indestructible, especially if coated with Aqua Sure. Though I found Storm Sure to be cheaper and actually survived better underground. Also this stuff is just as good, and you can get it at B&Q:
