Fingers crossed all flooding is minimal. Rained first thing here but dry at the moment. Rain due here in the next hour or so though.

All the snow here (Ingleton and surrounding hills) had already melted, so no risk of snowmelt, but the snow has saturated the ground (just as rain would have) so rivers are responding rapidly. The River Greta outside the house (under the viaduct) has just gone 'over rock' which happens maybe once a month or so - but there is plenty of rain still to come... (never actually floods in this part of the channel).

I don't think it should be too bad here but could be really bad in the places that got a lot more snow and/or still have it.

Live Ingleton weather forecast - still pissing down, but now windy as well, great...

Hmm - the radar map showed heavy rain hitting Sheffield at around 2pm - now it's completely vanished, and seems to have moved much further north - hasn't rained since 9.30 here, though it is getting breezier. I'm off out for a walk!

Although it's a filthy day at Clapham, my rain gauge tells me what rain's fallen so far is nothing unusual. The trace on the barograph chart is descending steadily though; storm Christoff is a clearly quite a deep depression. Plenty more rain to come I suspect, so t's a case of watch this space.

21 mm between 08-30 and 17-00, near Clapham. Not truly excessive but then again it's going to continue to rain for many more hours before Storm Christoph eventually moves away.
Hurtle Pot may look like in this picture by tomorrow.
When the water does fall here is a good time to hear the Hurtle Pot boggart!

On the Ribble view, it gets exciting when the water reaches the arch (as the appeture starts to be reduced).

Just recorded 37 mm of rain for the last 24 hours in Clapham parish. By comparison, Storm Bella on Boxing Day night, dropped 42 mm.

Agree with Pegasus - it's foul outside - but it's not exceptional rainfall. Then again, it's not giving up any time soon . . . .
