Britain First

Hi all,

I know its against common sense to talk religion or politics, but I'd just like to raise awareness of a worrying cancer in UK society currently. A group called Britain First.

For those who haven't heard of them, effectively they trick people into supporting them, both financially and with facebook "likes" by using honey traps such as poppy appeals, pictures of abused dogs/children etc and then not giving any of the money to charity. They currently have support of over half a million people on facebook. This is a group who's main policy seems to be violently opposing anything related to the muslim race. It brings up worrying comparisons with the rise of the Nazis in 1930s Germany if you replace "Jewish" with "Muslim". It gets more worrying when you see comments on their page on a regular basis calling for a second Kristallnacht, segregation into ghettos and even a coming holocaust. These are posts a political party are encouraging. You can check out their page here:

https://www.facebook.com/britainfirstgb

However, I'd much prefer it if you'd check out this page which gives information on their posts with sources:

Sorry for the digression from normal service,

Ash

Yes, they're despicable racist scum. I've warned Facebook contacts that if they post any Britain First crap I'll immediately unfriend them.

OK, not much of a threat but the best I can do.

Just to reiterate I posted this to possibly raise awareness. Not debate it with others as it's a topic I become rather heated over.

It's nice to see the majority agree they're not a good movement.

:coffee: So Ash are we reading what you have said right?

You put a post up condemning a group of people and then say we are not to debate it.

You say a majority agree with you (two?!) then you tell everyone else to shut up because you get " rather heated"

"Britain First" was a slogan used from time to time by the British Union of Fascists and National Socialists  in the 1930s.

Peter... Britain First is a slogan used by many people to promote all things British and our way of life, our freedom of speech our democracy, freedom to debate.... The rights of women in our culture and their entitlement to vote and their right to education.

The use of the term Britain First has been used to promote buying British goods and so supporting British industry....

Richard you have misinterpreted. Others are more than welcome to discuss. Just do not wish to participate myself.

And the term majority refered to the proportion of replies on this thread at that moment in time, not the population as a whole or even the members of this forum.

I don't deny it - but the association with fascists and their nasty ideas is simply a fact about which I chose to inform you. If anybody finds that fact inconvenient, then that's their problem. How ironic that these thugs think they are being "patriotic" by standing for everything that true British people abhor.

On this (excellent) forum we can all get along discussing our caves... but when a post comes up such as this, it can cause big and everlasting divisions, which is sad....

Peter..... I have a question for you.... would you  stick with your above statement and still say it.... if you were one of the 1600 in Rotherham or a parent or family member ?

Hi Richard. A while back I did some research into the political party known as britan first.

The two things that were bugging me at the time was why did they put 'for lee rigby' as there slogan on ballot papers and how were they helping to stop animal cruelty. (especially as they seemed to be made up of BNP radical rejects)

I went on there facebook page and asked a simple question. "how are you using the money from the animal cruelty campaign to put and end to the suffering of animals?"

Through a bit of research I relised that all the differnt 'causes' all use the same donation page so I awaited an answer, within the hour I was banned from there page.

I get the feeling that if they knew where I lived they would probably have bricked my windows too.

Unfortunately now Richard, whenever I read the phrase Britain first, Instead of wondering what great cause can I get behind and support or what wondrous things some one is doing for this country I first check to see if it is related to the nasty little political party.

It's impossible to say. I can only speak from the heart about something that really troubles me.
