Access - Ashford Black Marble Mine?

As part of a bimble on Saturday looking for new caves to take novices down, we found Ashford black marble mine. Our out of date guidebook didn't list any acccess requirements, but we discovered this is now gated, "subject to DCA access" or somesuch.

Does anybody know what the contact details are for arranging access next time we're out that way?

A search on DCA access info found:

Ashford Marble Mine - Access Change
To obtain the key for access to the mine apply to the DCA Access Officer, Iain Barker. Phone and email details above. Proof of P.L. Insurance required. (DCA Handbook page 2:4.)

Haven't been there myself yet, let us know if it worth a trip or not.

looks quite interesting. let us know what its really like. (if you get in)

Not much too it really from a caving point of view: large easy walking passages. But interesting from a mines point of view. It is important to use common sense and avoid any obviously dangerous, unstable areas.

As already said, check out the DCA Access Page for information on access.
