RYOBI 24v SDS Cordless Rotary Hammer Drill ???

Wandering if anyone has had any experience with this drill, as price and specification are quite illuring.

Afraid not. The only drills I've used are the Bosch GBH 24v ones which seem very popular in the caving world.

The thing about a drill for caving is it has to be tough as old boots and put up with some right hammer. I suspect the cheaper your drill, the more suseptable it will be to damage from knocks, grit, water etc.

also beware false economy, better to have an expensive drill that lasts and lasts than a cheaper one that falls to bits on your 4th trip.

Never heard of 'em before. May well be OK, may fall to bits....

The Hitachi on the same page (a little more expensive) is used in Matienzo. I haven't very wide experience of drills, but that one puts in lots of bolts in not a lot of time. Certainly got 16 9mm Hilti spits in with one battery - dunno why we carried the spare all the way down the cave :roll:
