If anyone is looking to get more involved with cave science specific to geology (or geology more generally), some really great stuff is going online over the next couple of weeks. The European Geosciences Union (EGU) have organised a completely open-access platform for sharing and discussing material that was going to be presented at the annual conference, which was supposed to take place in Vienna next week.

Access to all of the uploaded materials is completely free and no registration is required. You can browse sessions for cave-related content by searching in the session browser.

Some sessions that may be of interest:
Speleothem and Continental Carbonate Archives of Modern and Palaeoenvironmental Change, convened by Gina Moseley.

Erosion, weathering and sedimentation in mountain landscapes and caves, Andy Farrant has some work in this session.

Field and modelling approaches for the assessment of hydrogeological and engineering problems in the complex karst environment

Fractured and karstified aquifers

This is a new way of organising scientific conferences that were previously quite exclusionary and definitely not free. Take advantage of this platform to learn more about what academics are doing in cave science right now!
