Does anyone on here know anything about these Starscope monoculars that are all over the web?
Are they as good as the adverts say (they would say that wouldn't they  :)) and do they come with the smartphone attachment? This is not clear in the advert.
Thanks in advance.

I don't have any personal experience of them but I have seen a couple of posts on social media from people who have bought them and say that they are rubbish - apparently they don't even look like the illustrations in the adverts. Of course, your chances of getting your money back from a supplier in China are zilch. I think that with these the principle of "if it looks too good to be true then it usually is" is applicable!

I?d steer well clear of cheap optics made of Chinesium. Have a look at more established brands like Bushnell, Opticron, Steiner, Pentax, Nikon, Zeiss, Olympus, Leica, etc.

I've seen a few of these adverts and what they claim for something that will fit comfortably in one hand is ridiculous. I've got a couple of birding scopes which are many times bigger and don't magnify as much.

Thanks for the replies so far. It would seem my scepticism was well founded!
I do like the idea of a monocular that will take a smartphone attachment. Does anyone know of a good one?

You can get something called a Scopecam for recording shooting. That might be an option.
