There's an excellent brewery in Wallsend if you want to stock up before your walk, or celebrate after depending which way you go.

They seem to have re-branded themselves a bit since I moved away from the area, but their core range of beers seem to be the same as they were and if the recipes haven't changed, you won't be disappointed

Thanks for the tip. Im sure we will be visiting a few pub/breweries along the way.

Meanwhile......

My latest update. More to follow

Thank ypu so much.

Hello again everyone.

I just want to thank those of you who have already supported me in this challenge and donated towards my target. Every comment, donation, share, or like is giving me more determination and drive to complete the task.

With 9 days to go before we leave for Wallsend, the excitement is building, training is going well,  and our spirits are high. Lets just hope the weather decides to be favorable to us

During the walk we will be tracking our progress and publishing the results here every evening.  Following us as we walk couldn't be easier.

You could even walk with us virtually if you like. We are asking people to take a short video of yourself out for a walk during our walk and share it here, (or on our other social media platforms) and encourage us to keep on walking.

More updates soon.
Bye for now.

Hadrians wall charity walk for MIND

This event has now been postponed until October.
Due to local advice and circumstances beyond our control, it has been decided not to travel.
With a flooded campsite and numerous sections of the wall walk being under water, the decision to move the date was made late this evening.

CavefestUK will not risk the safety of any team members and have made this decision based on the information recieved by local experts.

The walk will go ahead at a later date and donations can still be made towards the fund target. Donations already made will remain in the fund and are secured therin.

We thank you for you patience and understanding at this time and look forward to your support in October.

Thank you.
The CavefestUK team.

Hello everyone.

We apologise for the lack of information regarding this walk, but we have an update for you.

The Hadrians Wall walk has unfortunately been postponed indefinitely.
The obvious reasons need not be explained, but we do plan to complete the walk at some date in the future.

So far, ?400 has been raised, and indeed donated already to Mind Charity.

Our efforts as a team made this possible, and your donations, have already made a difference to those among us who need it, and we thank you all.

We look forward to a brighter future together and some serious underground time.

Be safe, stay well, see you soon.

Neil Maine-Jackson.
