Pegasus asked me to put something up on UKCaving and it stumped me a little as I'm not really qualified to write anything about anything. My skill set extent is pushing a button on a camera and it made me realise that
ten years ago I'd never even heard of caving. My new girlfriend did all these mad outdoorsy things and it looked like the only way I would ever get a chance to see her was to get off my butt and join in.....fast forward a decade and not only do I have the bestest wife in the world but also the bestest friends and bestest hobby in the world! It has lead to me experiencing and travelling to places I hadn't even dreamt of.

This year I was asked to tag along and take a few thousand photo's of mud floors, walls and debris by my mate Roo for an upcoming Mallinson Sadler production for Nat Geo called Drain The Oceans...how could I say no to that cheeky grin.

The muddy cave in question was of course the now (In)famous Thai cave Tham Luang.

It was awe inspiring, humbling and emotional to witness what the entire rescue team, our heroic British divers in particular, battled against to save the 12 boys and their coach.

A shiver goes down the spine as you walk the passages where one of the heroes, Saman Kunan gave his life to help ensure their survival.

I am honoured to have had the opportunity to have been a part of this project and hope that it will pay tribute to the efforts of all those involved.

Drain The Oceans Season2 Ep09 Thai Cave Rescue was released in the US on the 2nd of September on the National Geographic Channel (UK Release TBC)
