The CNCC routinely email our member clubs with important news about northern caving, including details of our meetings (particularly our AGM), updates on access, newsletters, and to make them aware of relevant events such as conservation projects or training opportunities.

We rely on our member clubs to forward these onto their members, and of course, we use various forms of social media (Facebook, Twitter, UKC) to engage directly with cavers individually.

Several individuals have asked us whether they can be on the CNCC?s mailing list personally, but until now we haven?t had the facility to offer this.

Thanks to our webmaster, we are delighted to launch the CNCC?s mailing list:

Simply enter your email address and you will be added to this list, and you will receive periodic emails with details that we feel all northern cavers should be aware of. You may need to check your junk/spam folder periodically.

Only your email address is needed, no other details.

You will only receive emails from us; we aren?t going to pass your details to anyone else, email addresses are held securely, and of course, you can unsubscribe at any time by clicking the unsubscribe button at the bottom of any email; so nothing to worry about.

I don't think it matters, its just a mailing list so any email address should do, whether it's tied to a cncc club member or not.

Should I have received a welcome email? Not seen anything in my inbox or spam... 

Message comes up on website, saying if you've been accepted (unless they've blocked you...)

Anyone can put their email address down, regardless of regional affiliation, club affiliation, CNCC membership, BCA membership, favourite northern pothole, preferred caving shop and even regardless of whether you wear your oversuit inside or outside of your wellies 

Cavers, non-cavers, and everyone in between are welcome.

This is simply a mailing list to keep people up to date on matters relevant to northern caving. Therefore if you frequently cave in the north of England or Scotland then there will hopefully be something of interest in any updates. In particular, sometimes there are important announcements (e.g. sudden changes to access, safety warnings at popular potholes, upcoming training opportunities, AGM details) where getting the word out to as many as possible is desirable.

There is no confirmatory email (currently); if you see the positive statement on screen saying that you're registered then it has been successful.

Wow, didn't realise it would be so popular so quickly! We've had hundreds of people sign up to the mailing list which is great to see.

Sorry, there is no conformation email, I probably should have done that in hindsight, but it seems to be working fine.

If you are registered with the cave booking system it will say if you are on the mailing list or not at the bottom of the welcome page. You can also unsubscribe there too if you wish.

Just a quick reminder of this... we've now finished developing our mailing system so the first news mailshot will go out soon to everyone who has signed up. After that we'll use this as required to keep people directly up to date with northern caving news, access updates, training opportunities, information on our AGM etc.
