Simpson's/Swinsto warning

Obviously not many people going caving at the moment, but for anyone taking a trip down Simpson's Pot or Swinsto Hole in the near future, there seems to have been some recent movement in the route down to the Master Cave at the foot of the final pitch...

This is still passable but has been reported to be somewhat 'insecure' and additional vigilance is needed.

We'd welcome any updates on this whenever anyone is next visiting.

Where exactly? The boulder hole/slope to the right, rather than into Philosophers crawl to the left?

Hi Fjell. The person who reported this stated:

"After last pitch on way down boulder slope to streamway it was noted there had been some movement and it was looking very insecure."

This is all we have unfortunately. Not sure if this adds any clarity but we'd welcome more information.

It is the Boulder ?slope? that you come down from the the great aven area to access the stream and start the hands a knees crawl to the main streamway.  (There is a wooden post part holding it up)
It was a fairly small opening. On a recent trip through there was evidence of fresh movement and it was looking ?precarious?, a very slight move of one small rock brought down half a dozen decent size  boulders which dropped down into the streamway.

It is a bit more stable now (and bigger 😃) It could do with a good looking at and some further stabilising work.

It is not a hanging death now, but due to its popularity it would be nice to get it a bit more secure.
