Collection of caving journals available, Dales.

As with previous times this has been done, the following journals are available. Some are fairly common but others are less common and contain valuable information about major Dales cave systems.

The difference this time is that none of these items is going individually. Here's the deal; the first person to make a reasonable offer of a donation to the NPC Library Extension Fund takes the lot. (We need the space urgently so this collection goes as one.) Any items you don't want you can dispose of however you like (give to a worthy individual or club, sell on, aswap, leave in a caving club as sacrificial items for folk to read, etc.) The collection would make an excellent basis for a club wanting to start its own library but if an individual gets in first, it's yours.

Note; we can't guarantee that pull out surveys which came with these journals will be with them.

Ideally you'll collect from the NPC hostel by arrangement with me (Greenclose, near Clapham) but we might be able to arrange caver post if this is difficult for you.

Please send me a PM with an offer of a donation. (As before, it's NOT an auction; part of this is about getting bibliographic material to an individual or club who will appreciate it. So we're not looking for a massive donation; just something reasonable to help our club library fund along.)

Here's the list - everything is in boxes, in the precise order below:

Need to hear back from you soon Greybeard; others are interested.

(If anyone else on here knows who Greybeard is - and could help put me in touch directly - I'd be grateful.)

Thanks.

Last call for Greybeard, before this collection goes elsewhere.

I really need to have heard back from you by this evening.

Also, please can I just flag something else up (to Greybeard, or others who have shown interest)?

I was contacted separately by a friend who really wants copies of BCRA Caves & Caving nos. 13, 14, 15 and 19, to complete a set.  There are three copies of each of these in the main list above - I hope I'm right in presuming that, if I take those four individual copies out, offers I received for the collection still stand.

Not really Mudman - remember, part of this is a desire to make sure this material ends up with someone who will really appreciate it.

I noticed that Greybeard is a very new forum member; I'm just wondering if he's had problems with passwords etc. But I may have an idea who he is, so will try to contact him off board.

Separately - here's a message for 2xW; you have an email waiting from me for when you get back in.

Greybeard has now been in touch (the delay being caused by him having been away). He definitely wants this material. Just saying, to avoid anyone else getting in touch.

Incidentally I hope to be able to advertise further material when more accumulates, on a similar basis. If you're interested, keep your eye on this forum. Might not be for a while though.

My final post in this topic; the collection has now been delivered to Greybeard, whom we thank for his kind donation. (Just saying, so the other person who was second in line is aware.)

I'd also like to thank the owners of this forum, which is invaluable for making this sort of thing possible in the first place

I'm already starting to accumulate further material, so watch out for a new post on here sooner or later.

What follows is likely to be the last collection of journals, available in exchange for a donation to the NPC Library Extension Fund, for a long while. The main item is the large collection of classic ULSA publications but there's plenty more of interest.

Like the last lot (see above) none of these items is going individually. As before, the first person to make a reasonable offer of a donation to the above fund takes the lot. Any items you don't want you can dispose of however you like (give to a worthy individual or club, sell on, swap, leave in a caving club as sacrificial items for folk to read, etc.)

Ideally you'll collect from the NPC hostel by arrangement with me (Greenclose, near Clapham) but we might be able to arrange caver post if this is difficult for you.

Please send me a PM with an offer of a donation. (As ever, it's NOT an auction; part of this is about getting bibliographic material to an individual or club who will appreciate it. So we're not looking for a massive donation; just something reasonable to help our club library fund along.)
