The French are really good at organising this type of event. The Speleovision caving film festivals (2000 and 2002) were really good, and don't miss the gala dinner that finishes the event (assuming they are having a gala dinner...)

As you know the next European Speleological Congress Vercors 2008, will be held last week of August 2008 in Lans-en-Vercors in the Northern French Alps, in 18 months from now. You receive this message because you have been designated by your national federation to make the contact for one or several of the sessions of the Congress with the cavers of your federation. The list of the sessions and the respective "responsibles" (person in charge and their email) is available on : http://vercors2008.eu/events/sessions.htm

The sessions will be organised around several activities : presentations/conferences, debates, round-tables, videos, films, slide-shows, posters, workshops, practical works, outdoor and underground activities, etc ... You can already send your ideas or proposal for articles, videos, slides, posters, equipments, etc, to the responsibles for the sessions you are interested in.

You will receive within few weeks or months, messages from these sessions' responsibles to tell you what they expect from you, and to communicate informations to the cavers of you country who are interested in this session's theme. Some of the email address are common to several persons, in that case please transfer the messages to the proper contact-person in you federation.

2nd good news : It's now possible to pay by bank transfer.

Over the possibility to pay by Credit Card (Visa or Mastercard) online on <http://vercors2008.ffspeleo.fr/registration.htm#registernow>http://vercors2008.ffspeleo.fr/registration.htm#registernow, it now possible to pay by international bank transfer. You just need to send the following filled form (<>http://vercors2008.eu/organization/Reg-30May2007-V2008-biling-02.doc) to <>contact.vercors2008@ffspeleo.fr and make your bank transfer of the corresponding amount plus your bank transfer fees to FFS-Vercors2008 bank account which data you will find at the end of the form. Don't forget to put on your transfer header your first name and family name to identify it.



3rd good news : It will be possible to register directly on Vercors 2008 stands.

It will possible to register directly on the Vercors 2008 stands at the German congress (17-20 May), the French Congress (26-28 May), and then for the 2nd fees step on the Swedish Baltic Congress (13-15 August), the Swiss Congress (15-17 September) and the British Congress (21-23 September).

Due to the late edition of the information for the European Congress in some speleological magazines in Europe, it has been decided to make the LAST extension of the deadline till the 29th of February for the Registrations at Preferential Rate (25/38 instead of 30/48 euros). If you didn't do it yet, it's really time to take grouped registrations for your federation/society/committe/association/club, etc ! After it will be more expensive. The registrations are non-nominative (you can freely change the name of it afterwards). It's a great pleasure for the European Federation-FSUE to launch its first edition of the "EuroSpeleo Photos" contest in the frame of the European Congress "Vercors 2008" organised by the French Federation of Speleology.
The contest is made in partnership with the magazine "Sp?l?o Magazine" (http://www.speleomag.com) and for this first edition, the selected themes are "Emotion" and "Movement".
The photos will be exhibited at Vercors 2008 and several prizes will be awarded to the authors of the winner photos.
