?The Child in the Cavern? written by Jules Verne in 1877 (This edition published in 1914). An interesting tale of the ?doings? inside a coal mine in Stirling, Scotland. Although a fiction, Verne appears to accurately describe the mining of coal from a miner?s perspective. Includes geology, gases and natural chambers. Easy to read. (Free on Kindle too)
