Daren Cilau

Looking to do a trip into Daren sometime but can't seem to find one online. I know they can be purchased from the CSS but could anyone tell me which books I could find a survey in?

Not actually answering the question you asked, but, we've used the descriptions in "Selected Caves" in the past without needing more than an overview survey.

I've used 'Caves of South Wales' by Tim Stratford for my visits.

Since the book was published, it is now possible to exit Daren Cilau via Prices Dig (it's not possible to enter that way AFAIK).

I have a survey I think, probably bought from Inglesport (or the now defunct caving shop in Abercrave who's name I forget)

If you do try a buy a survey from the CSS, you may find it is very cheap but essentially useless as it is printed (copied?) so faintly as to be essentially unusable (despite me spending some time trying to enhance it after scanning).

Which is a shame as a decent looking digital survey does exist...

I've attached (I believe) some large scale surveys. I'm not entirely sure where they came from,  but should be sufficient for most trips.

Thanks for all the responses, especially blackholesun for those images. The warning about the CSS surveys is appreciated as I expect low quality surveys from the web but ones I pay for should be of decent quality. Thanks again all, I will hopefully post any details of the trip when I get round to doing it as it may have to be next month considering how busy I seem to be at the moment.

The descriptions contained in the llangattock exploration journal are invaluable! Buy it, buy it, buy it!
