Belgian Caving Days - Mozet
18,19,20 September 2015

Every 2 years, the Flemish and Wallonian Caving Federations (VVS &
USB) together with the Dutch Speleo Nederland, organises
?Speleologische Dagen?, a two-day get together.

This is the ideal occasion for cavers of all ages and from all over
the area - across the borders of tiny Belgium - to meet other cavers
or hook up with old friends and acquaintances! There will be a range
of activities to choose from, including trips to caves that are
otherwise closed to the public, workshops and lots of socialising
while enjoying a specially brewed ?cave beer?.

A summary of the program:

Friday evening: get together in the bar, meet up with old and new
friends, make plans for the weekend.
Saturday: Caving day - As always, a great selection of closed caves to visit.
Saturday night: Caving night - An evening reception, banquet and party!
Sunday morning: breakfast followed by a choice of workshops and
activities in and around the site.
Sunday afternoon: a bbq to which we also invite our ?old guard? cavers!
To conclude the Caving Days, at 3pm, the ?Friends of the Flemish
Caving Federation? will organise a special surprise.

More information can be found on speleovvs.be (in Dutch) and on
Mozet.be (in French).

Looking forward to seeing you all!

We have been to this event for the last 2 occasions and sadly cannot make it this year due to having tickets to the Rugby World Cup.

This is a super friendly event, they guys in the VVS and USB make it so easy for UK covers to attend. If you have any questions at all it is best to email them and they will respond very quickly.

Top tip - register as soon as you can. The caves on the Saturday are picked on a first come first served basis based on registration to the event. To be honest if you have never been caving in Belgium then many of the choices will interest you but one in particular (if access is possible this year) is Piere Noel which gets snapped up very quickly! The people organising this will help you find out which cave to pick and since we started going have now produced the programme leaflet in English as well as French and Dutch!

The Price is 46? per person and this includes accomodation, entrance to the event, breakfast both days, dinner on Saturday night. Packed lunch Saturday and the caving. All you have to buy is the beer and a tshirt if you would like one. It's a bargain of a weekend even with travel costs!
