Flooding in Central Vietnam

Out here in Vietnam, the caves are full of water at the moment, unfortunately lots of the houses are too. So; I am going on a bike ride.

In 3 weeks time I will be midway through a cycle ride around Quang Binh in aid of Saigon Children's Charity; I will be doing the "Experienced" route. Raising money for the children of Vietnam; and, in particular, those affected by the flooding currently affecting Central Vietnam. Phong Nha has been flooded 3 times in October; once to 4 metres deep. We may have more big storms next weekend. Please give generously and share this with your friends and colleagues. Thank you.

I?ve donated along with Minion. Good luck on your bike ride and I hope any upcoming floods aren?t too bad.

I can?t imagine having my house flooded especially not that many times in a month.

Hope you raise lots to help people.

This week we had the conclusion of "probably the biggest cave rescue ever", in terms of casualty body weight.
8 buffalo that were swept into a cave last week, were successfully rescued.

It would be absolutely fantastic if you could find some money to donate to this great cause. The final; hopefully; typhoon of the season, typhoon VAMCO, will hit Central Vietnam tomorrow.

How the hell do you rescue a buffalo from a cave?!? Sheep are hard enough to manhandle!

2 days to go, to the start of the cycling charity trip in Phong Nha. To date, we, as a group have raised over 90,000usd, just shy of the 100,000usd objective.
Thank you to all my friends who have supported me, and allowed me to raise 1,719usd, so far. In this difficult year, where; the most in need are disproportionately affected by Covid-19, but also by the flooding and storms that have affected Central Vietnam; the donations are even more impactful and meaningful.
I am lucky to be surrounded by such generous and compassionate people.
Of course, if you have not done so yet; and still wish to give, there is still time. The link will be up until, and during, the 3 day cycling trip, as well as for a few days after.

The buffalo are pretty tame, we have plenty of space, a 2to1 mechanical advantage, and plenty of people.
Also, we only lifted 1 buffalo at a time.
