Ooo, I need a new one too. Mine is somewhere in France.

Question (to anyone). Which foot? I'm right handed but always used one on my left foot. What do people think? Any particular benefit one way or the other?

I started like this but switched to R foot and find it better that way.  Reasons are too complicated for the keyboard in using just now:)

I got a Pantin when they first came out - if my memory's right the first ones were right foot only. It was OK but it always seemed really numb in use. When they brought out a left foot version I borrowed one to try it - and it was great! So I flogged my right footed Pantin and bought a left footed one.  Never looked back since.

Same here - the first Pantins were right-foot only and I got used to using mine on the right-foot and replaced the original Pantin with another right-foot one when it wore out (I'm right-footed as well). I use my left leg in the footloop if not using the Pantin.

Ah - thanks - that might explain why you prefer right foot Pantin and I prefer left footed ones - I normally have my right foot in the long footloop as I'm right footed and my right hand on the footloop jammer if the other hand's occupied.

When you walk, run, climb a ladder etc. you move right hand with left foot and left hand with right foot. The same goes for rope walking.

The earlier petzl (handled) hand jammers were right handed, so naturally connect by the foot loop to the left foot. Hence the right foot Pantin.
Now that petzl make a left handed jammer, the left foot Pantin goes with it.

This only really matters if you use the "rope walking" technique, if you use the "fogging" technique it makes no difference which hand /foot you use in terms of progress up the rope, so whichever is more comfortable wins...
