Hey,

I'm off to the Jura in just 3 days :) Was just wondering last minute if anyone had any good suggestions of which caves to see. Got various guide books etc, but always good to have suggestions.
Thanks!

Take the flood warnings VERY seriously....... flash flooding in Summer is common....and bad.....

Chaufrauche if you don't do any other. Just remember to leave no valuables in the car... its worse than the mendips.

The Jura is a great caving area, and a short drive from Calais compared to the deep South areas and Pyrenees. Great character, great cheese (Comte/Jura).... just loved it there....

Are you staying at the caving hut I cant rememebr what its called....

Maybe they target German numberplates  ;)

Then again I haven't been back for 10 years so may well be better now. Whats the name of the big long systems with loads of entrances. Right up on top of the ridge? Thats a good one too but prone to flooding. Think it starts with a V?

Probably too late for your trip. But if anyone else is interested, Crewe CPC Journal vol 2 has 15 pages on main Juta trips with some fold out surveys.
