Montreal glacial caves?

Does this sound credible?  Fissures opened with matching walls, yet a flat roof?

Two amateur cavers discovered a massive Ice Age cavern entrance beneath the city of Montreal that is so sprawling it even contains an ancient underground lake.

Cavers Luc Le Blanc and his friend Daniel Caron, who have been exploring underground caves in the Montreal areas as a hobby for years, were stunned after they knocked through limestone discovered a massive chamber. The entrance to the cave, which is underneath Parc Pie XIII, near Highway 40, connects to Montreal?s Saint-Leonard Cavern.

Quite stunning.

I liked this quote

"This is a major discovery we made. This doesn't happen many times in a lifetime," said Luc Le Blanc, who found the passageway along with his friend Daniel Caron.

I wish.

I've not heard of this type of cave formation before and would be interested what  the geologists and geomorphologists who post here have to say. Are you there Dr Andy?

Umm. What is a " Chamber like Cavern " Is it different from a " Cavern like Chamber". More to the point is it bigger than The Frozen Deep , Britain's biggest chamber by floor area.  ::)  Sadly no scale in the image. ( Unless he is a tiny dot somewhere . )

Glad I have found that out at last.

"According to the Quebec Speleological Society, to which both men belong, a centimeter of stalagmite takes about a thousand years to grow."

Having studied the available photos a bit more, I'm pretty certain it's, in fact, a chamber-like chamber.
