In 1982 a note appeared in caves and caving number 17 pg 25 stating that Ian Broadhurst and Dave Lamont extended Eden Sike Cave in Mallerstang. The exploration is credited to LBCC but what does it stand for?

They were based in the Richmond area.

I have looked at Ian's website, phone and email don't work.

Another who caved with them was Jonty Willis.

Wild guess! Two places near Richmond are Leyburn and Bellerby plus Caving Club could be LBCC.

It certainly won't be Long Beach City College which is what Google comes up with.

LBCC stood for ( rather tongue in cheek ) the Lamont Broadhurst caving club. We were based in Richmond. Sadly Ian died from cancer in 2011.
