Not many people know that there are more than these. Quite nicely decorated with calcite in places too. My godfather swears that an old boy took him all the way to the sea cliffs at Hooken Adit (you can see it on the coast walk) in the 1930's.  He is quite insistent about this although John Scott says there is no evidence of any passage of this length.  I have had a good look at both ends in the past (before John opened the mines to the public). They used to grow mushrooms and rhubarb in there when mining finished. I will try and get round to posting some pictures of the mines when I have time.
