See title - guess it will be on demand later...

I worked for many years at Cheddar Caves so I have an especial interest in Cheddar Man.
The programme wasn't too bad for Channel 4 but I hope there's an academic paper put on line and not lost in  in an unobtainable journal.
There's a couple of points I'd like clarified. The earlier, rather dodgy, DNA results showing that a direct descendant still lives in Cheddar was not mentioned. Why? I wonder. Perhaps they were being polite. And there's a wound to his head which was thought to have given him pain during life. Maybe the latest research concluded that it wasn't a wound.

This isn't an archaeological forum so I'll shut up.

Pegasus, I think given the DNA thing you should make this image the subject of a competition. Which current Mendip caving figure does the Cheddar man most closely resemble? To win, you have to post a photo of the caver concerned. The skin pigmentation is allowed to come from mud.

They did say everyone is a descendant of his clan - depends how reliable the original results were. Does look like someone I know...

Thanks martinr, saves me looking for it. I'd like to see the full paper when it's published, or at least the conclusions as I may be able to get my head around some of  them.
