After close examination of the entrance we've noted that the initial roof slabs are in great danger of collapsing, so are the rocks above the left wall. As a result of this Ray Duffy and Sam Lieberman have placed some fence posts and a few rocks over the entrance to signify that it would be foolhardy to risk the rock falling on someone entering. Notices are posted on the gate toward Lancaster Hole and also the fell gate to County, so that people are aware of the problem before attempting either the through trip or walking across the fell to find it in serious condition. Remember it may not collapse on you or it may, your choice but not that of your rescuers.
