Hello colleagues
Our small speleological organization and speleologists of Kyrgyzstan want to offer you a joint project to explore the ancient cave mine Kan-i-Gut in the south-west of Kyrgyzstan (Central Asia). At present, the length of the cave mine is about 6,000 meters. But, new galleries and halls of the cave continue to spread in different directions, which need to be explored. The cave is complex, has several levels and several wells, up to 50 meters deep.
The age of the first mining of the lead and silver deposit is 1500 years. Further, at different stages of history in the cave, the elaborations were made, which were produced by the Arabs, and later by the ancient Chinese miners. During the Second World War, the mine was partially developed by Soviet political prisoners.
In our opinion, today only 50% of the cave mine is known. These are mostly easily accessible places.
According to literary sources, in ancient times, many slaves were killed in the cave.
Until now, there is no complete information about the ancient cave mine.
We offer you cooperation, as people who have a lot of experience in researching mines.
In this regard, our Fund of Preservation and Exploration can undertake the full organization of the expedition to explore the cave mine in 2017.
We and our sponsors provide for the expedition: vehicles, equipment for the base camp, individual tents, food, special equipment, ropes, carbines and other, power generator and all necessary permits from the state.
Those wishing to take part in the joint expedition to explore the ancient cave mine Kan-i-Gut in 2017, in August and September, please let us know.
In connection with this we think that the co-operation with colleagues from other countries can bring good results.
We are glad to any cooperation!
Those who wish to organize an expedition in 2018, please write to us.
We send information materials on the ancient cave mine. And also a documentary about an ancient cave mine. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oe0f-7-dS8o
If you have any questions, please write to us info@speleo.kg
Yours faithfully
President of Fund Preservation and Exploration of Caves

It is a place I have been interested in exploring recently after a friend came back from an area nearby recently and remarked how much Limestone there was in that area. I would be very interested in going there and there is a chance my summer plans may end up changing this year but likely will not be available until the 2018 expedition.

GSG is planning on a recce of the area in Turkestan ridge near Kanigut cave in July 2017 and possibly returning in 2018.  It's not our objective to continue any exploration of this particular  cave directly although I wouldn't rule it out entirely.  It would be a mine Explorers paradise I would imagine,  given the history of the mine,  and perfect trip for mine archaeologists.

We plan to go for 2weeks to look for natural cave entrances on the hillside and will collaborate with Alexey out there.

If anyone is going back in  August from UK,  get in touch with me by email via GSG website and we can liaise between expeditions.

Yes, we want specialists to do a scan. This will help in future to make a forecast for the development of the cave

This cave is included in the register of state archaeological cultural heritage. Our idea is to make it the object of ecological tourism and to take under the protection of the state. In the cave there are 5 species of rare bats cast in the international red leaf.
Therefore, we need to make qualitative geodetic studies.

That looks like a very interesting place - the curved surfaces in the vertical photo could well be fireset looking at the profile, and those are superb dogtooth calcite crystals in the photo above.
